Estuaries
Environmental accounts submitted for estuaries assets in 2014.
About
Estuarine systems are semi-enclosed by land with a permanently or intermittently open connection with the ocean, and where ocean water can be diluted by freshwater runoff from the land. The upstream boundary of an estuary is generally described as the limit of tidal influence. Estuaries comprise deep-water habitats, tidal wetlands, lagoons, salt marshes and mangroves.
