Professor David Lindenmayer oversees seven large-scale, long-term research programs in south-eastern Australia, with research themes that focus on developing ways to improve integration of native forest harvesting and biodiversity conservation, new approaches to enhance biodiversity conservation in plantations, surrogate ecology, the adoption of nature conservation principles in agricultural production areas, and improved fire management practices in reserves.

Publications

David has written more than 960 scientific articles, including over 640 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, and has authored or co-authored 41 books. When not writing or mentoring his cohort of early career researchers and PhD students, he enjoys participating in field work.
